Teacher Internship Program

Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience’s two-week teacher internship offers Palm Beach County high school and middle school teachers an opportunity to learn about cutting edge techniques used in neuroscience research, taking back valuable tools and resources for their classrooms. Some of the topics covered in the course of the internship include: immunohistochemistry, molecular biology techniques (e.g. genotyping, cloning and PCR), light and electron microscopy, learning and memory.

Teachers must be available to work 40 hours per week and will be compensated at a competitive rate. 

Program Details and Requirements

The 2020 application period opens January 6 and closes February 18, 2020.
The internship takes place June 8 through June 19, 2020.

Applications must contain: 

  • A current resume 
  • The name and email address of the school’s principal 
  • A cover letter addressing: 1) applicant’s interest in MPFI’s teacher internship program and 2) the applicant’s plans to integrate neuroscience related knowledge into classroom lessons and activities
