The taurine transporter Eaat2 functions in ensheathing glia to modulate sleep

Sleep is critical for many aspects of brain function, and growing evidence suggests that glial cells contribute to diverse aspects of sleep regulation. Here, I will present a novel wake-promoting role for Eaat2 in ensheathening glia through a taurine-dependent mechanism.

Atypical orphan receptor-GAP complex in stress-induced depression

The molecular basis of the events leading to major depression are still unclear. We recently discovered the involvement of a membrane complex between the orphan receptor GPR158 and the Regulator of G protein signaling RGS7 in the development of stress-induced depression.
