What is the Florida Atlantic University – Max Planck Academy?

Located on Florida Atlantic University’s John D. MacArthur Campus at Jupiter, the Florida Atlantic University – Max Planck Academy is the premier early university entrance high school experience in North America for STEM-focused juniors and seniors in high school.

The Academy will begin classes in the Fall of 2020 with 50 high school juniors pursuing a university curriculum while matched with Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience (MPFI) faculty and laboratories and engage in enrichment in collaboration with international MPFI and Max Planck Society scientists.

Graduates, beginning in 2022, will earn an Academy designation with a Max Planck Society seal on their FAU High School diploma, continue in the FAU Max Planck Honors and other undergraduate programs at FAU’s Wilkes Honors College and FAU, further enter MPFI and Max Planck Society graduate programs, and continue to travel abroad and contribute to the broader research community in South Florida, Germany, and throughout the world.
